Over the past week, a lot has been going on with my graphic designs. The first that I have my first official client for graphic design. Apparently, this women fell in love with my Audre Lorde book cover and logo I designed. She wants me to create a logo for her new production company. The second customer is someone I designed for previously. She works in human resources and wants me to design some of the pages of her book. More details later… I cannot wait to get started

Very interesting but isn’t the whole purpose of graphic design suppose to be functionality?

My inspiration for my earth day poster. Love the pop of color with the organic colored background.
Here are my ideas for the earth day posters. I am thinking about doing triptych art. For those of you who may not know, triptych art is a style of art where three different painels makeup one large image. This is a good example of what I want.

For this poster because I want something that is memorable, slightly bit feminine and elegant because that is the style of my client. The following pictures are what inspires me:

Although this image is a bit cliche, I want to play around with this idea. instead of the woman holding a small tree, I want her to hold dirt and heart shaped flower petals in her hand similar to these because they looks very natural, elegant and doesn’t remind me of a valentine’s day card. I am going to use a variety of colors - crimson, cream, rose and lavender.

With the treatment of the flowers, I am thinking about using digital painting over my photograph to get the final desired look. I want my final design to have the look and feel of an oil painting because it looks very organic but its not too illustrative for my client’s target audience.

Now, my only issue is the time… I have very little left and so, I might have to change some of my ideas. However, this is what I am going to aim for in my poster.
